Government has denounced media reports suggesting that it has taken a decision to move the South African Airways (SAA) out of National Treasury to the Department of Transport.

In a statement, the Presidency says the reports are incorrect and no such decision has yet been taken.

It adds that SAA remains located at the National Treasury as it rebuilds itself following the appointment of a new Board and CEO.

Earlier, Transport Minister Joe Maswanganyi confirmed that there is a national review underway to move SAA to his department.

His statement came in reaction to the appointment of former SAA Board Chairperson, Dudu Myeni, as his adviser.
