Senior forecaster, Henning Grobler says it will start clearing on Thursday afternoon. He says more chances of rain are predicted for Monday.

” Places like Kirstenbosch ,38 ml , 20 Paarl and Stellenbosch, I would say good average of over between 5 and 15 ml , unfortunately it is already starting to clear up, light rain on and off only cloudy conditions tomorrow  (Friday). A  light rain over the south coast area and clear up towards the weekend  but no further rain expected for the weekend.”

The Western Cape has been one of the worst affected provinces by drought.

Residents in low lying areas of informal settlements around the Mother City have experienced discomfort. This as winter rains hit the province.

Some residents of the Kanana informal settlement in Gugulethu have started to experience discomfort as winter rains hit Cape Town again this morning. Residents in lower lying areas say they are worried that the water will start seeping into their dwellings, if the rain continues.

There’s been no reports of flooded homes in the area as yet. The Cape Town Weather Service has reported  good rain in some parts of the Peninsula and in the Boland.
