Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba has confirmed that he will appear before the Parliamentary inquiry into corporate governance at Eskom when it resumes on Tuesday.

Also called to appear are former SAA Board Chair Dudu Myeni, the Gupta family and their associates.

The committee has, however, heard from neither Myeni nor the Gupta family lawyer if they will present themselves at the inquiry.

Last week Myeni sent a message to the committee saying she was too ill to fly to Cape Town. Inquiry chairperson Zukiswa Rantho says if they don’t hear from Myeni by Monday, she will be subpoenaed.

“Dudu Myeni is one of the persons that has been mentioned in the dismissal of the executives of Eskom. The likes of Tshidiso Matona and the others. And yet she was the chairperson of SAA. That is what we wanted to hear from her. What was her role in Eskom.”
