Gauteng multiple crime suspect nabbed

A man believed to responsible for a string of serious and violent crimes across Gauteng has been arrested.

The suspect was arrested in Tembisa, east of Johannesburg, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He was found in possession of a stolen BMW, bullet proof vests, several firearms and more than 100 rounds of live ammunition.

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says the police are busy questioning the 33-year-old suspect.

“Police are busy questioning the 33-year-old man who was found in possession of firearms and a stolen vehicle. We believe that the suspect might be involved in serious and violent crimes in the province. At this stage he is going to be charged with possession of suspected stolen properties as well as firearms and ammunition while we are busy profiling him.”
