Gauteng police have confirmed that a learner who allegedly stabbed a fellow learner Monday morning, at Thuto Tiro Comprehensive School in Sebokeng, has been arrested. The grade 9 pupil was fatally stabbed with a pair of scissors. Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says they are investigating a case of murder.
“What we can confirm as the SAPS is that today we received a call at about 10:20am, from the school the complaint was saying we need medical assistance. We dispatched our members, on arrival we found a learner in the sickbay with a stab wound the ambulance certified the learner dead on the scene. The suspect was detained in the presence of parents. We are investigating a case of murder,” says Funda.
