Free State MEC for Police, Roads and Transport, Sam Mashinini has sent a strong message to drunken drivers in the province.
Answering questions during the Medium Term Budget adjustment at the legislature, Mashinini urged motorists to drive safely and obey the rules of the road in order to realise 2019.
Mashinini has warned transgressors that road blocks will be manned throughout the provinces national roads this festive season.
“Road blocks will be intensified throughout the province. There will be more police visibility throughout the province, including in our malls. The intention is to make sure that the Free Staters and those who will be touring in the province can enjoy the hospitality and the warmth of the Free State.”
