The Free State government says it is still studying the Public Protector’s report on the Vrede Dairy Farm project.

Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane highlighted procurement irregularities and maladministration in connection with the project.

The project was supposed to have benefited 100 people, but it is alleged that millions of rands were channelled to Gupta-linked Estina company’s account.

Provincial government’s Director-General, Kopung Ralikontsane says, “We are very concerned that we will urgently sit to consider that report and finalise our course of action in relation to the findings of the Public Protector.”
