Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating a case of murder following the killing of four people at Nquthu in northern KwaZulu-Natal. It is believed that unknown suspects shot the four people and wounded a 90-year-old woman.
She is in a critical condition in hospital.
“We can confirm that police in Nquthu are investigating four counts of murder as well as attempted murder after four people were shot and killed while they were at Nquthu area. The incident happened yesterday (Saturday) at about 19h30 in Inquthu area where three victims went to fetch some things from Nquthu area and on the way it is alleged that they were attacked by unknown suspects while they were in their vehicle. All three of them were shot and killed and their bodies were found near the road in Nquthu area. Their vehicle was taken by the suspects who drove towards the victims’ homestead in the same area where they also shot two people who were in the house and both of them were taken to hospital for treatment,” says police spokesperson, Colonel Thulani Zwane.
The motive for the attack is being investigated.
