Former world champion, Nkosinathi Joyi, will return to the ring next month after a two year lay-off.

He has been approved to meet Mpho Seforo, for the vacant World Boxing Organisation(WBO)/Africa junior flyweight title in East London on the 7th of December.

Joyi last fought in November 2016, when he lost to Simphiwe Khonco, in an International Boxing Organisation straw weight title fight.

Ayanda Matiti, from Xaba Boxing Promotions says, the boxer and his trainer, Ncedo Cecane, asked to be included in the December tournament.

“He is getting an opportunity; the ball is in his court. He is fighting against a youngster. If he wins the WBO/AFRICA title, we will sit down. If he is interested in cementing his relationship with the brand, we will make him a world champion again.”
