The Commission of inquiry into allegations of state capture is expected to hear the testimony of Former Transnet employee, Gerhard van der Westhuizen in Parktown, Johannesburg on Monday.
Appearing before the commission last week the Chief Information Officer of Transnet Port Terminal, Sharla Chetty said that former Transnet CEO Brian Molefe went against procurement processes when he overturned a decision to award Transnet’s Network Master Services tender to Neotel.
Chetty said that Molefe decided to award the tender to T-systems which had come in third during the bidding process due to pricing.
She said Molefe did not consult Transnet’s Cross functional evaluation team and recommending officers when he overturned the decision to award to Neotel.
