Former North West Finance MEC out on bail

Former North West MEC for Finance and Economic Development, Wendy Nelson, has been granted bail of R20 000 by the Mmabatho Magistrate’s Court.

Nelson was arrested on Friday morning in Mahikeng by the Hawks and charged with fraud.

Spokesperson for the Hawks in the province Tlangelani Rikhotso says Nelson will appear in court again in September this year.

“This is pertaining to the investigations on the appointments of the HODs within the North West departments where the appointments took place and they were irregularities in 2014. She appeared today at the Mmabatho Magistrate’s court where she was released on R20 000 bail. She will appear again on the 6th September 2019. The investigation continues.”
