Mourners from across the country have come to pay their last respects to a man who took Thanda Royal Zulu and Chippa United from the National First Division to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Roger Sikhakhane was laid to rest in Etholeni in northern KwaZulu-Natal.

Sikhakhane died in hospital in Empangeni after battling an illness for over a year.

Royal Eagles’ General Manager, James Dlamini, says the team has been struggling to come to terms with his death.

He says this was evident in their performance during a previous match with Maccabi Football Club where they conceded 2-1 to the opponent.

Controversial business moguls Sbu and Shaun Mpisane are also expected to say their last goodbyes to Sikhakhane.
