Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former Acting Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Specialised Commercial Crime’s court on Friday morning.

This is in connection with a R86 million blue lights tender.

Phahlane was arrested on Friday morning, along with the Police’s Supply chain management head Ravichandran Pillay.

In 2018, IPID arrested former Gauteng Police Commissioner Deliwe de Lange in connection with the matter.

The charges stem from a 2016 tender awarded to Instrumentation Traffic Law Enforcement, owned by millionaire Vimpie Manthatha.
