Five people killed in Western Cape crash

Five people have died after the driver of the bakkie they were travelling in lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll on the N7, in the Western Cape.

Provincial Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, says there were 12 people in the bakkie at the time of the incident.

The accident occurred on the N7 between Piekenierskloof Pass and Piketberg.

Its alleged the driver of the double-cab bakkie lost control of his vehicle and it overturned.

Five occupants were certified dead on the scene.

Several others were injured and taken to the nearest hospital.
