Two adults and three children have been shot and killed in a home in Montclair, south of Durban.

KwaZulu-Natal police Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says officers are still at the murder scene, trying to piece together what happened.

At the moment, the adults are believed to be husband and wife.

Zwane says when officers arrived at the home there was no sign of forced entry.

“We can confirm that the police officers were called to attend to a shooting that took here place at the Woodlands area, at the Montclair area at about a quarter to one. On their arrival they noticed that there were 5 people who were shot and killed inside the house. And it is not clear as to what happened, but the police officers are still at on scene. They are trying to get more information, the necessary evidence before we can . . . Ja, we are still getting more information here.”
