Family disappointed men found not guilty of police murder

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The family of Constable Solomon Sebati says they are disappointed that the two men accused of killing him, his wife and two children, were found not guilty because of an alleged botched police investigation.

They say they will appoint a private detective to find the truth.

Judge Vincent Ratshibvumo found that the confessions made by the accused were done under duress and that evidence show they were assaulted and tortured.

There was no other evidence linking Karabo Mokgosi and Tebogo Chidi to the murders.

The two men spent one year and seven months behind bars awaiting trial.

Chidi says he has never killed anyone in his life and just wants to go home.

“I wish and I pray they find the right person that did the crime. They put me through hell. They have broke me, not just physically but emotionally. When I walk I have pain. I can’t sleep thinking about what they did to me.”
