Failure to pick up wins cost Larsen his job

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Clinton Larsen has admitted that his failure to pick up wins resulted in him getting the boot from Chippa United.

Larsen, who saved the Port Elizabeth-based club from relegation last season, led the Chilli Boyz to three home draws against Stellenbosch FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City as well as two losses to Lamontville Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates before club chairman Siviwe ‘’Chippa’’ Mpengesi showed him the door on Monday.

The former Orlando Pirates and Manning Rangers midfielder still insists, though, that the Chilli Boyz played good football under his coaching and he was just unlucky not to get results.

Larsen has added that it’s disappointing that his plans for the Chilli Boyz have fallen flat even after he introduced a few youngsters to the team.
