Expect more drama in SA parliament

Long gone are days of those slow, dull proceedings in South Africa’s parliament. South Africa’s opposition parties have changed the face of parliament by being more vocal, defiant and louder.

This triggered many parliamentary proceeding disruptions in 2014.

More drama from parliament is expected in 2015 as issues that caused the main disruptions, like the Nkandla saga, remain unresolved.

SA can expect more drama  from SA’s parliament in 2015.

Parliament’s Powers and Privileges Committee Chairperson Lemias Mashile says six Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) MPs whose suspension comes to an end on Friday, will now be allowed to participate in any parliamentary activities.

They were all found guilty of disrupting President Jacob Zuma’s oral reply session in August 2014.

This saga is expected to spill into 2015.

The committee will start the inquiry process into the three of the six MPs early next year when parliament resumes.
