EP Rugby Union served with summons by former players

Reading Time: < 1 minute

At least four Senior Managers of the Eastern Province Rugby Union have been served with a summons by former players of the Franchise.

The players want the Franchise to pay them close to R24 million in promised wages.

In Papers filed with the Sheriff in Humansdorp on the 9th of April, Daniel Watson, Shelley-Ann Henriena Baatjies, Vernon Samuel Struurman and current EP Rugby COO Charl Crouse are all cited as defendants.

SABC News’ efforts to get comment from the Rugby union have drawn a blank so far as calls remain unanswered.

This is a developing story as SABC News Presenter Thabiso Sithole unpacks it on Sports on Prime.
