Reading Time: < 1 minute

The case of an Ekhuruleni family’s nanny and four others accused of kidnapping the family’s 13-month-old baby and allegedly demanding R6 million ransom will resume in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Gauteng’s East Rand on Tuesday.

The accused are facing kidnapping and extortion charges.

The baby and the nanny were reported missing after the nanny and the child left the family’s Brackendowns home for a walk and never returned.

Police set up a sting operation which led to the child being found at Windmill Park near Boksburg at the weekend.

Five suspects including the domestic helper and four Zimbabwean nationals were arrested and are due back in court.
