Egypt will host the 2019 African Cup of Nations. The Confederation of African Football announced the decision in Dakar, Senegal on Tuesday.
Egypt and South Africa had put their names forward as last minute replacements for Cameroon for the tournament which gets underway in June.
Cameroon was stripped of the hosting rights in December because of concerns about security and delays in preparations.
Meanwhile, it’s official that the 2019 IPL cricket tournament will take place in India.
There had been talk that it could be moved to South Africa, because of security concerns and due to the clash in dates with India’s upcoming general elections.
