The Economic Freedom Fighters(EFF) in the Free-State says it is pleased with the Assets Forfeiture Unit’s move to seize the controversial dairy farm in Vrede after obtaining a court order.
The High Court in Bloemfontein granted the unit a preservation order stipulating that an amount not exceeding R220 million which constitutes proceeds of crime could be seized from various bank accounts linked to dairy project.
EFF provincial leader Kgotso Morapela says they welcome the move.
“We are very happy. We were nearly worried that the manner in which they were moving, they were moving at snail pace. But with the explanation now, we understand it had to take time to make sure that they are able to get a solid case, so that they can pursue the corrupt individuals that are found in the provincial government of the Free State under Ace Magashule and Mosebenzi Zwane,” he said.
