EFF slams Australian government on land issue

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has lambasted the Australian government for its stance on the land issue. This after Australia’s Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton offered to fast-track visas for white farmers.

Addressing the EFF’s Human Rights Day rally in Ermelo, Mpumalanga, on Wednesday, Malema said those who wanted to leave South Africa were free to do so.

As expected Malema addressed the issue of land and maintaining that there are no human rights without land.

He says the Australian government’s remarks are somewhat racist.

Malema says land will continue to be a central EFF platform. And he will campaign for expropriation without compensations.

He urged Zimbabwe not to return land to white farmers.

Malema has insisted his comments were not racist. But that he wants land to be returned to the previously marginalised.

Malema has also used the event to urge supporters and members of the EFF to register to vote in the 2019 government elections, so that they can contribute in bringing changes to the Mpumalanga government.
