Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have shut down the Pick n Pay store at Kathu in the Northern Cape during a protest.
The party is leading staff members at the shop in a strike against what they call unfair labour practices.
“I’ve been working here for more than three to four years now, but we don’t have any benefits even provident fund, nothing. When you get out of the shop, they throw you out like a piece of paper,” a staff member at Pick n Pay explained.
“All we want from them is not only uniform, but our benefits, our bonus and provident fund,” added another staff member.
