The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has called on the government of the Republic of Malawi to reverse its decision to ban its leader Julius Malema, saying he has not done anything anywhere to deserve being refused entry into the Southern African country.
Malema and a leading Zambian politician, Saviour Chishimba, were banned from entering Malawi to attend a conference this week.
In a letter signed by Malawi’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Grace Chiumia, and addressed to South African Airways (SAA) among others, she has declared the two prohibited immigrants in Malawi.
This follows reports that Malema and Chishimba were to attend a conference of the new Transformation Alliance in Malawi.
Organisers say the Transformation Alliance was founded to fight against corruption and hold leaders to account.
