Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) members are accusing an Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) official of tampering with a ballot box in Ermelo, Mpumalanga during the second day of special voting on Tuesday.
EFF’s Jabu Thwala allegedly took a video of a woman putting ballot papers in an unsealed ballot box.
Thwala says the incident took place at an IEC centre in Ermelo.
“While we were busy escorting the IEC ballot box to the centre, then I noticed the IEC officials putting the ballot paper inside the ballot box. That box was open and they were busy making crosses on the ANC square there so from there then I took the video.”
The IEC in Mpumalanga has failed to comment on these issues.
