It’s all systems go for the African National Congress (ANC) January 8th statement celebrations in the Eastern Cape.
The statement outlines the organisation’s programme for 2018.
The party will hold its celebrations at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London where thousands are expected to converge in celebrating the ANC following its successful national conference in December 2017.
New ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address party members at the celebrations.
ANC volunteers are ready to go from door-to-door campaigning for the ANC, confident to fill the Buffalo City Stadium to capacity.
The NEC is already in the province holding events leading up to the big day.
ANC president Ramaphosa is seen as someone who will unite the largely divided party.
It’s yet to be seen if former leaders of the ANC including former President Thabo Mbeki and ANC veterans will rally behind his leadership.
