‘Dress an Orphan’ calls for society to help dress the needy

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Organisers of the ‘Dress an Orphan’ initiative have appealed to members of the public to assist them in their aim to clothe the less fortunate this Christmas.

The aim of the campaign is to collect as many outfits as possible to be able to dress over 300 orphans and make their Christmas Day special.

This year’s theme is ‘Give more than clothes. Give life’.

Sicelo Mbonani, the founder of the project says: “So we are currently at 135 but we are hoping for more. This year we are doing Christmas lunch on Christmas, so things like toys and other support, all sorts of things, food and stuff, anything that makes a party great for kids – we still need. Currently we have orphans from the age of two up to 21. This year we are covering six orphanages. You can get hold of me on 0814682425 or at dressanorphan@mail.com; otherwise we are available on social media as the orphan organisation – both on twitter and Facebook.”
