The self-proclaimed prophet, Lethebo Rabalago who has been found guilty of assault and misusing the Doom insecticide, has appealed to the Mookgophong Magistrates court to show leniency when sentencing him.

He says he is taking care of his disabled mother.

Rabalago has testified in mitigation of his own sentence.

He has been found guilty of five counts of assault and three of contravening the Agricultural Remedies Act dealing with the use of insecticides, relating to a church service where he sprayed Doom on congregants.

Rabalago has testified that he is the only child to his mother who uses special shoes for walking. He says he cleans cooks and prays for his mother.

He also mentioned that he also assists young people and the elderly who are members of his church by getting groceries and running other errands for them.

The state earlier placed on record that Rabalago has a previous conviction where he paid a R500 fine for violating traffic regulations.
