Communications Minister Mamaloko Kubayi-Ngubane says her department will seat back as MultiChoice and television channel ANN7 are implicated in corruption allegations.

The future is bleak for the Gupta-founded ANN7, as calls mount for pay TV group MultiChoice to be honest about its relationship with the 24-hour TV news channel.

ANN7 will probably be forced to broadcast on the Internet if MultiChoice fails to renew the expensive contract next year.

Kubayi-Ngubane says her department will not get involved in the contract issues.

“The matters are a contractual issue we can’t get involved they need to sort it out themselves. Relying to corruption issues we as government we know where we stand we don’t want to see corrupt activities. In our government as communications we don’t the authority nor the capability to do any investigation if there are allegation of corruption there are relevant department such as the department of police and the department of justice that can come when needed,” says Kubayi-Ngubane.
