Disbanded ANC Free State PEC to challenge elective conference

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Members of the ANC Free State 2013 PEC that was disbanded last week have warned that they will challenge the party’s 54th National Elective Conference if it allows chairperson Ace Magashule or any of its members to participate as PEC delegates.

This comes after they received an SMS allegedly from Magashule inviting them to a meeting at the University of Johannesburg.

A letter from Selepe Attorneys to ANC Free State Lawyers Moroka Attorneys says Selby Legwalaba and others received an SMS calling them to a meeting of the PEC but they warn Magashule and others that reconstituting the disbanded PEC is illegal and its decisions will be unlawful and can be set aside

They also give Magashule until 12pm to give an undertaking that the meeting will not happen, and warn the Conference that if it allows anyone to represent Free State as a PEC member they will challenge it.
