The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) Deputy President Zingiswa Losi has called on the workers to go to the African National Congress (ANC)’s National conference in December and elect a leadership that will defend and unite the ANC-led alliance.

Losi delivered a message of support at the South African Communist Party (SACP)’s Red October event held at Claremont outside Durban.

She has reiterated Cosatu’s support for Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa as the Federation’s preferred ANC presidential candidate.

“As we go to the ANC national conference in December, because we as workers we are also ANC members, we must go to ANC branches to guard against membership gatekeeping and go and nominate ANC leadership that will unite the alliance,” says Losi.
