The death toll from the horrific accident on the N4 toll road east of Mbombela in Mpumalanga late Friday has increased to fifteen.
Another victim died this morning at Rob Ferreira hospital in Mbombela.
Fourteen people died on the scene when two trucks, a minibus taxi and a car were involved in a pile-up.
Nine of the bodies have already been identified by relatives at Tonga Hospital’s mortuary.
Tonga police spokesperson Magoseni Nkosi says, “Pertaining yesterday accident we have realised that the taxi was from Nelspruit to Malelane, we thought that all the occupants were from Nkomazi, we decided to take all the bodies to Tonga pathology and family members who are interested in going to identify their loved ones they can go to Tonga SAPS and they will get counsel from Nancy Mnisi who will assist them. Their bags will be transported down to Tonga SAPS on Monday morning.”
