Judgment is expected on Wednesday in the High Court application of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille challenging her expulsion from the DA.
Judgment was reserved earlier this month after arguments were heard before a full bench.
De Lille’s legal team argued that her expulsion from the party was illegal and unconstitutional, while the party contends that her membership ceased after she declared in public her intention to resign.
De Lille was reinstated as Mayor by the court pending the outcome of her application.
The mayor says she is feeling positive, “I’ve always respected the independence of the judiciary, I feel very happy that in open court of law I was able to state my side of the case, my version and I’m sure the court will consider all of the evidence and arguments that my lawyers put before them, but I’m very positive.”
