DA ready for disciplinary process against De Lille

Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Council Chairperson, James Selfe says it’s all systems go to proceed with disciplinary process against Cape Town Mayor, Patricia De Lille.

He says following a meeting of the party’s leadership in January, they have since furnished De Lille with the charge sheet.

Selfe says due to a postponement requested by her legal team, the DC will take place next week. The trial is scheduled for four days.

He says if De Lille doesn’t file for any legal representation in court, he doesn’t expect any further delays.

“She has launched a high court application to review the report of the sub-committee of the Federal Executive, and at some point or another that may very well complicate the trial. But we are hoping since she herself has asked for her name to be cleared, that we will be able to proceed with the hearing without any other legal complications,” says Selfe.
