DA launches its manifesto in N. Cape, Mpumalanga

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Democratic Alliance (DA) launched its manifesto in the Northern Cape and Mpumalanga provinces. The party outlined its strategy in a desperate bid to unseat the ANC in the Northern Cape.

In Mpumalanga the party played the corruption ticket, promising to uproot graft to create jobs.

The DA needs to increase its votes by more than 27% in order to snatch the Northern Cape. The party only managed 23% in the previous general election which only afforded them the main opposition benches.

Party leader Mmusi Maimane says the ANC must prepare two swap seats of the provincial legislature after the elections.

“We need a government that doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking of about clever ways to steal money.

“President Ramaphosa is always shocked when the lights go off. He is shocked when his son gets money from Bosasa. He is shocked when he himself gets money from Bosasa … he is shocked.”

Meanwhile in Mpumalanga, the party used its clean audits where it has been governing to sell its manifesto to Kabhokweni residents.

The DA can only hope the voters won’t change their mind as multiple parties present their campaigns.

The countdown to Election Day continues with all parties pulling out all stops to attract voters.
