CWU set to strike at Telkom, Post Office

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Communication Workers Union (CWU) says it’s forging ahead with its strike action at Telkom and the Post Office starting this Friday.

Wage negotiations between management and unions have deadlocked.

The union says they are not happy with the 3% wage increase Telkom has offered them.

The Post Office has not moved from its 0% offer.

CWU President Clyde Mervin says: “The union national preparatory committee has decided through its structures that Telkom will be served with a strike, which we did. We have served the Post Office. We are ready for going to the streets. We will host an Imbizo tomorrow (Wednesday) just to make sure everything is done.”
