Court to rule on DA MP Breytenbach case

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former State prosecutor and now DA MP, Glynnis Breytenbach will return to the Pretoria North Magistrates Court for judgment on charges relating to her shredding work-related documents from her work laptop.

In October, Breytenbach told the court that she had only deleted files from her NPA work laptop to protect her privacy.

Breytenbach was suspended from the NPA in 2012.

She was cleared on numerous disciplinary charge, but she resigned from the NPA in 2014.

She believes her suspension in April 2012 was a bid to stop her from prosecuting former police crime intelligence head, Lieutenant-General Richard Mdluli amid political interference.
