The Congress of the People (COPE) says people implicated in criminality at the Zondo Commission must be dealt with decisively. COPE spokesperson, Dennis Bloem was speaking outside the Brooklyn Police Station in Pretoria; after the party laid charges against senior Correctional Services officials.
Bloem says former Correctional Services National Commissioners Linda Mti and Zach Modise as well as Provincial Commissioners Grace Molatedi and Mgcina Ncedana, and Correctional Services former Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Gillignham should be arrested.
He says COPE views evidence led against these individuals at the commission in a very serious light.
“So all of them I have laid charges against them that the police must investigate this case of fraud and corruption because we view it in a very serious light. It can’t be that people are named in a commission and they are just going up and down as business as usual. No it can’t be.”
