We’re coming for you: EFF’s message to racists

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema says his party is ready to fight racism around the country.

Malema was addressing hundreds of party supporters at Westernburg in Polokwane in Limpopo.

He says they do not regret shutting down some H&M stores after the company used an advert of a black child wearing a hoodie written “the coolest monkey in the jungle”.

International Clothing Retailer H&M has temporarily closed all its stores across South Africa on Saturday after several of them were vandalised by the party’s supporters in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

“We make no apology about what the fighters did today to that store called H&M.  All over South Africa, H&M stores are closed because they call our children baboons. We are teaching them a lesson. If they didn’t know what a monkey is, today they know. Because we are not going to allow anyone to use the colour of our skin to humiliate us, to exclude us,” says Malema.

Malema says no one must make jokes about the dignity of black people and left unattended to.

“We are black. We are proud. We are black. We are beautiful. We are black and we are not ashamed of being black.”
