Organisers of the Shell-Helix Ultra Cup between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns hope for more ticket sales than 2018’s 50 000, for the second installment of the competition.

Chiefs’ improved form has seen their fans attend matches in large numbers and ticket sales for the match to be played at the FNB Stadium next week Saturday are expected to pick-up.

Sail Group CEO, Jaco Beukes says Sundowns and Chiefs have a large following.

“Chiefs are particularly playing well on the back of a poor season. So, I think their supporters vote hugely with their feet and Sundowns has been doing well over the seasons and we hope ticket sales are going to pick up.”

With Sundowns’ tight schedule and Chiefs playing in the Macufe Cup a day after the Helix Cup, fringe players who are returning from injury hope to get the chance to impress.

Kabelo Mahlasela who got injured last season, says he is also hoping for a chance.

“It’s every player’s dream to play. So, if I get a chance to play in this game I will work hard, play to the best of my ability and grab the chance and see what happens next.”
