Dundee in northern KwaZulu-Natal became a melting pot of cultural tastes this week. This as chefs from across the African continent shared their love of food with those in need. More than 200 wide-ranging dishes were prepared in celebration of World Refugee Day.

It was a 24 hour affair combining cooking prowess and a charitable spirit and above all, unity among Africans.

It was a mouth-watering haven of diverse cultures, from burgers to bunny chows to Italian dishes, were all on offer.

Those who attended the event, are hoping to see it develop and grow.

The organisers hope to see more Africans taking part in building peace and unity on the continent.

With the history of xenophobia in South Africa, food can be a good way to find some common ground.

Meals prepared were later distributed to different orphanages in the area.
