Chamber of Commerce concerned over delay to remove President Zuma

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed concern over the delay in determining President Jacob Zuma‘s fate.

Chamber President Janine Myburgh says indications that the president would resign have lifted the mood of business and the country, but now there is a delay.

She says there’s also reason for concern about the concessions that might have to be made in order to secure Zuma’s exit.

She says they must ask whether Zuma could do further damage to the country and the economy.

Myburgh points out that at the ANC‘s national elective conference in December, Zuma unilaterally promised free tertiary education without any plan or budget for it.
