Police Minister Bheki Cele says all preparations are in place for President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday evening.
Cele was addressing the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure at the Castle of Good Hope ahead of their deployment to the parade and operational duties in and around the city for the SONA.
Police Minister Bheki Cele says several thousand police and law enforcement officers will be stationed in and around the Parliamentary precinct during the build-up and during SONA on Thursday.
Cele has praised the officers for the work done this far during the build up to 7 pm, when President Cyril Ramaphosa will address South Africans on the state of the country.
Meanwhile, several road closures can be seen near Parliament with many metro and traffic officers securing the directing traffic around area.
