South Africa has scooped two nominations in the international section of this year’s Black Entertainment Awards. Hip Hop star Cassper Nyovest and the Durban duo known as Destruction Boyz are nominated for the best International Act Award.

Nyovest, who missed out in 2016 to fellow South African star Black Coffee who scooped the country’s first BET Award in history, returns to the list of nominees for best international act.

This will also be the first time the BET awards combine UK and Africa acts in one category that will also now be featured during the live shows and not as a separate event, a long-standing complaint of the international acts.

The SA nominees are up against musicians from the UK, France, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the international category.

Fans will be able to cast their votes for their favourite Best International Act at where the complete list of nominees can be found.  The main event takes place in Los Angeles on 24 June.
