The weather office at the Cape Town airport has issued warnings of heavy rain during the day and and this evening, as well as flooding in low-lying areas.
Forecaster at the Cape Town office, Mmathapelo Makgabutlane says temperatures will drop further and there’s also a possibility of snow on the Cape Mountains.
“On Sunday, we’ve got a strong cold frontal system that will be making landfall; the cold front will be bringing quite high rainfall amounts. At this stage there is a possibility of some flooding, some possible heavy rainy conditions and even a possibility of some snow falls,” adds Makgabutlane.
