The 2018 edition of the Cape Town International Film Market and Festival is underway in Cape Town. The ten-day long event, kicked-off on Wednesday night.
Over 50 high profile directors, producers, film stars, fashion designers, musicians, celebrities and comedians were invited to the opening night at the Artscape Theatre Centre.

This year’s festival boasts 120 new feature films, shorts and documentaries for the public.

Opening night saw the South African première of the internationally acclaimed local film,
“Sew the Winter to My Skin”, by writer and director, Jahmil X.T Qubeka.
The movie has been announced as South Africa’s entry for next year’s Oscar race in the Foreign Language category.
The festival has positive spin-offs for the Cape Town economy.
