CAF rules are not fair: Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says the African football governing body CAF rules are not fair.

He said this after his team is supposed to play in the preliminary round of the first leg CAF Champions League clash against Otoho d’Oyo from Congo-Brazzaville away on Sunday.

Sundowns reached the semi-finals of the competition last season but the other three teams will not take part in the preliminary round.

The Brazilians won the competition in 2016 but have struggled ever since to even reach the final.

Their home form has been brilliant in the last campaign, but often struggled away from home. Mosimane is confident they can win away on Sunday despite challenging conditions.

One of the players who will be crucial for Sundowns to retain the Champions League is Sibusiso Vilakazi.

The Bafana Bafana midfielder spent the better part of last season on the sidelines due to an injury. He scored the first goal in the 2-0 league win over SuperSport United on Saturday.

Mosimane says Vilakazi and Themba Zwane can be the top goal scorers this season.
