Cape Town City Coach, Benni McCarthy has promised to throw the Absa Premiership title race open after their match against Orlando Pirates. The Citizens host the title-chasing Pirates in Cape Town on Saturday.

With two matches to go, Pirates have 50 points, and lead second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns by three, but the Pretoria team still have a game in hand. Third-placed Bidvest Wits is still in contention. They are on 48 points.

McCarthy says they are going to make the title race interesting.

“We like to ruffle feathers. Next week is the right time to ruffle those feathers, unpin that hand grenade there and drop it there and see what happens. Wits, Sundowns, we are gonna throw that hand grenade in the mob there. Let it explode. They’re gonna fight each other. We look to do exactly the same. It must go down to the wire. We want to cause confusion,” says McCarthy.
