Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown says she is still waiting for the President to sign the proclamation that will authourise the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to investigate corruption and state capture allegations at Eskom.

She told the Public Enterprises Committee on Tuesday that she’d been waiting three months for the SIU proclamation.

Brown wants an investigation into procurement and contract management into both Eskom and Transnet.

The Minister was taking part in an interaction between the committee and the leadership of several State Owned Enterprises (SOEs).

“I have written to the President because we are now waiting a sign off on the SIU. It’s gone, three months ago we were first told it was at Justice and then we were told it’s at the Presidency and now we are told it’s at the Presidency waiting for sign off from the President,” says Brown.
